KITRAC Engineering Solutions completed a neighbourhood-level rollout of residential solar home systems across 14 homes in a Nyali estate. The project was initiated after the estate's management committee sought a coordinated solution to frequent KPLC load-shedding that was affecting residents' work-from-home setups, security systems, and appliances.
Each home received a tailored system design based on an individual load assessment, ranging from a 3 kW hybrid system for smaller units to 8 kW installations for larger villas with pool pumps and air conditioning. All systems share a common format: roof-mounted monocrystalline panels, a Deye hybrid inverter, lithium battery storage, and a clean-energy monitoring app that gives homeowners real-time generation and consumption data.
The phased rollout was completed over eight weeks during the dry season to maximise early generation data. All 14 homeowners now operate energy-independently during daylight hours and maintain battery reserve for an average of 10 hours of evening usage. The estate has since commissioned KITRAC to extend the programme to a second phase of 20 additional homes.

All 14 systems commissioned and EPRA-certified within 8 weeks; no post-installation faults reported, and KITRAC Phase 2 contract awarded for 20 additional homes in the estate.
